15 October 2024 Word by Senior Pastor, Pastor Darien Choo

Today‘s Inspiration: “Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” Mark‬ ‭2‬:‭17.‬ ‭The greatest spiritual danger of a Christian is pride. When one begin to think one is spiritual, mature, or even righteous than others, it like the religious Pharisees that’s all puff up. Therefore the greater the calling in our lives requires deeper humility in our servanthood in the kingdom of God. It’s not about us but about Christ.

The truth about pride is that its ability to cover sins like the fig leaves in the garden of Eden. It’s the spiritual chasm between us and God. All of us have pride and there is no big or small, because it’s the carnal nature of the flesh. Pride can cause spiritual blindness, anger and discord even within the body of Christ. Pride hides with fear but humility reveals with faith that we are sinners saved by grace. There is nothing to be ashamed to confess our sins and there is no sin which our father God in heaven doesn’t want to forgive. Christ messages to us is always about returning, renewing, and rebuilding of our lives in God we trust. Walking more like Christ is the way to kingdom life.

Prayer: O Lord my God, let my heart always be contrite and broken before you that there is no room for pride in my heart, my words, my thoughts and actions. Let all of them be subjected under the knowledge of Christ. Forgive me if I have been prideful or had put others down or even taken offences. I choose to apologise, forgive and repent. Fill me and lead me by your Holy Spirit, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
