Today‘s Inspiration: “The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.” Romans 8:16-17 NIV. What is our identity? Is it our position at work, the business we have, the ministry we lead, or the role in the family? Are we defined by what the world say of us in social media or people around us?
In the world, one’s identity is defined by their performance, position and results but in the Kingdom of God, we are defined by our relationship, covenant and faith in God, depicting the image of Christ. Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.” So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir. Galatians 4:6-7. It is not what you do that defines you but rather it is who you are in Christ that refines you. Praise God!
Prayer: O Lord my God, pour out your Spirit upon us just as you poured out upon Christ, your only begotten son, whom you gave that I can be made as sons and daughters of your Kingdom. In you, my past is gone, forgiven, and put off by the precious blood of Jesus. For I am a new creation in Christ as I put on a new man, a new identity which the world can never take away; a Child of God forever, the spirit of sonship that I cry out Abba Father, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
