Today’s Inspiration: “The Lord is far from the wicked, But He hears the prayer of the righteous. The light of the eyes rejoices the heart, And a good report makes the bones healthy. The ear that hears the rebukes of life, Will abide among the wise.” Proverbs 15:29-31 NKJV. Most of us pray for people, things and situations but few pray to seek God’s kingdom and His righteousness. Spiritual growth and maturity comes in building a personal relationship with God in prayer and communion. Matthew 6:33. The righteousness of God is Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. II Corinthians 5:21.
The hardest yet most beautiful process in life is correction and changes. Wisdom belongs to those who are humble, obedient and teachable, but pride comes before a fall for a fool. Proverbs 16:18. Most people like to hear good things about themselves but few are correctable. Prayer is not about getting what you want but more about what you need to change to be like Christ. Just like the church loves to hear messages of blessings rather than repentance. “For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.” James 1:23-25. What are the areas God leading you to change? Take time to pause in prayer to let God search your heart.
Prayer: O Lord my God, how can I know my ways unless you reveal and direct my steps. You are my potter and I am your clay. Let my heart be contrite and submissive that I may be held in your hands and be crafted into your perfect plans. Mould me into thy righteousness in Jesus' Name, Amen.
