20 July 2022 Word by Snr Pastor, Ps Darien Choo

Today’s Inspiration: “Let not mercy and truth forsake you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart, And so find favor and high esteem In the sight of God and man.” Proverbs‬ ‭3:3-4‬. To build our spiritual life, we have to build a personal relationship with God. Communion with God is to partake His Body and His Blood in us, His word and His grace in our hearts so that we be doers of the Word and not just hearers. James 1:22. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. I Samuel‬ ‭16:7‬. ‭Obedience is better than sacrifice.

To build a personal relationship with God, you have to first build a personal prayer altar. Why do you think we can spend hours in doing ministry, fellowship or activities we like or enjoy but can’t spend time in prayer with God? 1 John 2:16-17 Do we hear more of what the world, friends, online or our flesh are saying rather than God’s voice? Even the disciples face this challenge during Jesus time when they slept as Jesus prayed, and not able to tarry with the Lord. Matthew 26:40 Why? They do not know how much God loves them until Christ was crucified at the Cross for their sins and manifested to them at His resurrection to give them His Holy Spirit. Until you see eternity by the blood at the Cross and your sins at the Cross, there is no personal relationship with God. Only Christ can draw us deeper in prayer and communion with our Abba Father God. John 14:6 His love never fails and never ends for us. Praise God!

Prayer: O Lord my God, take my heart deeper in love with you. For without you, I can do nothing but with you, all things are possible. As I draw close to you Lord in prayer, draw me closer into your wonderful divine presence. For your sheep hears your voice, you know me, and I follow you Lord. Let my eyes be focus on the Blood and the Cross, the salvation of souls, and the redemptive power of God, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
