30 December 2024 Word by Senior Pastor, Pastor Darien Choo

Today’s Inspiration: “The heart of the wise teaches his mouth, And adds learning to his lips. Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, Sweetness to the soul and health to the bones.” Proverbs‬ ‭16‬:‭23‬-‭24‬ ‭NKJV‬‬. The most important skill in life is communication, which is building our relationship with God, self and others. The most powerful emblem in Christian faith is the communion, which Christ forged with His body and blood that evangelises eternal life, reconciliation and restoration with God our Abba Father.

Words can build or break a soul. The wise hold their words carefully, thoughtfully and with understanding. Jesus gave the most wisest principle which is,” Do to others what you want others to do to you.” Luke 6:31. How do you want others to communicate with you? Harshly or gently, angrily or peacefully, critically or wisely. In reflection, we don’t realize how we communicate in life or even pray to God. Do we see ourselves in the mirror? Healing manifests when we learn how to use our words for the glory to God in Christlikeness. Hurting words kills but Healing words builds our health, relationships and communication. The key to good communication is listening.

Prayer: O Lord my God, let me always be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger. I repent of all hurting words I had used in the past to others and I forgive those who have hurt me with their words. Cleanse and sanctify my tongue as you did with Isaiah and may the words of my mouth and mediation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord my strength and my redeemer, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
