Today’s Inspiration: “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.” Matthew 5:43-45 NIV. God’s word is so anointed and powerful that it could bring healing, restoration and reconciliation between us and God, self and others. Nobody is able to love his enemy or pray for those who persecute them without knowing the Messiah and Saviour Jesus Christ.
The love in the kingdom of God is not carnal or sensual but supernatural. It is God’s agape love, His unconditional love, grace and mercy through Christ that will give us this conviction, courage and change to do so. Taking offences is growing the seed of bitterness, hatred and resentment and we see this in many unwell, broken and hurting souls. Only Christ is able love the unlovable, unreachable, and untouchables. When we are born of God, we overcome the world through humility, repentance and forgiveness. 1 John 5:4. Jesus taught,” If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. Matthew 5:46-48.
Prayer: O Lord my God, you are the author and perfecter of my faith, hope and love. Without you I cannot love my enemies or pray for those who hurt me, but with you my Lord Jesus all things are possible. Forgive my trespasses as I too forgive those who had trespassed against me. Let there be your river of grace and mercy flowing inside of me, and heal my wounds especially those who had hurt me that are closest to me. I chose to forgive them and surrender them to you. For by your stripes, I am healed, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
