Today‘s Inspiration: “Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits (character).”I Corinthians 15:33 NKJV. Over the years in the ministry we had observed that be it adults or children, we are deeply influenced by our surroundings or environment, the people, and the culture. Never underestimate toxic environment in the marketplace, ministry, schools or even in homes of abuses. It can cause sin, stress and sicknesses like high blood pressure, depression or even cancer. It causes one to become more volatile, vulgar, and being victimised.
The Holy Spirit is the spirit of liberty, love and life. And where the Lord is there is freedom. 2 Corinthians 3:17. God has plans to prosper us and not to harm us, to give us hope and a glorious future in His Name. Jeremiah 29:11. We have to learn how to discern environment, people and culture in the Spirit. Remember God has to deliver the Israelites out of Egypt in order for them to see His promised land. But more importantly the Israelites need to be delivered from Egypts in their hearts because it can corrupt the soul. Jesus taught,” what profits a man if he gains the whole world and lose his own soul?” Matthew 16:26. Time to step out of bad company, culture and critics. Be set apart. Get into prayer, worship, and fellowship. Our church life is our spiritual life and our holy life is our blessed life.
Prayer: O Lord my God, lead me with your discernment and open the eyes of my heart to your wisdom. Lead me in your everlasting ways and direct my steps with your Holy Word. Who can ascend your mountains except by clean hands and a pure heart? Your Word is a lamp to my feet and light to my path. I am not a victim but a victor in Christ Jesus. For you shall lead me into new networks, fellowship, and culture of fruitfulness, edification and kindness in Jesus' Name, Amen.
