Today’s Inspiration: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” 2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV. We always use this verse to proclaim about change and breakthroughs over our situations and circumstances in prayer but seldom we relate the root of this scripture. The context is about reconciliation with God through the son of God, Jesus Christ. It’s not about the breakthrough but about the breaking within.
A life of a Christian is not one who lives for himself or herself but for Christ. As Christ died to self at the Cross, so does one in Christ. V15 .Today many Christians relate to Christ in worldly ways for blessings, favour and prosperity but few know who Christ truly is in sacrifice, suffering, and selflessness. When it’s only self, there is no Christ. Apostle taught," I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing! Galatians 2:20-21 We must love others as Christ loved us. So let us be lesser, and He be greater. John 3:30.
Prayer: O Lord my God, my I daily learn to deny self, carry the Cross, and follow you as your disciple. I believe in every breaking of self, I am having more of Christ as I pray, fast, and depend on your grace which sufficient. In Christ alone, my hope is found, you are my light, my strength, and my song, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
